Southport Setback Levee 娱乐 Trail Report
In 2016, the 市议会’s Strategic Plan included a 小径 Initiative as a high priority action item, recognizing that there was a tremendous amount of opportunity to look at trails from a regional perspective and integrate with other efforts, including levee improvements planned and/or underway. Creating multi-benefit flood protection projects is identified as a priority in the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan. 像这样, $30,000 in grant funding was provided by DWR through the Regional Flood Management Project Delivery Team to evaluate potential multi-benefit projects. This funding was used to complete the Southport Setback Levee 娱乐 Trail Report.
The Southport Setback Levee 娱乐 Trail Report evaluated the potential to construct a 5.6-mile Class 1 bicycle and pedestrian trail on top of the Southport Setback Levee, as well as access points, trailheads and linkages to other existing trail systems to create both an active transportation and recreation amenity for the City and region.
